How is NordBrik paving manufactured?
It is important for us to be the leaders of progress in the small concrete products industry. Therefore, we relentlessly seek out the latest technologies and invest in developing knowledge that will allow us to make professional decisions.
NordBrik’s purchase of the German-developed HESS HR 2000 SVA manufacturing facility was one such decision. This facility enables us to manufacture paving while incorporating the latest industrial technologies, and to achieve unprecedented efficiency – up to 4,500 square metres per month.
Two-layered paving manufacture
We apply the semi-dry vibro-compression method. This enables the reduction of the amount of water in the manufacturing process and allows us to take care of environmental resources. The main advantage of this method is the possibility of manufacturing paving in two layers.
Accounts for paving’s durability and makes up 90% of its mass.
- Fine gravel, fraction 2—8
- Washed sand, fraction 0—4
Provides for paving’s aesthetic appearance, enables diversification of surface processing methods and accounts for the remaining 10% of the mass.
- Fine sand, fraction 0—4
Environmentally friendly and incorporates Latvian resources
The raw materials used in the paving manufacturing process are supplied from laboratory-tested and certified Latvian quarries. In order to maintain consistently high quality, raw materials are sometimes delivered even from comparatively distant extraction sites.
Furthermore, we use 100% local and renewable electric power in the manufacturing process, as confirmed by our Elektrum green energy certificate.
